Monin Wild Strawberry Syrup
As a child, I was never fond of strawberries. I have no idea why I just didn’t like them. Over the years I grew to love them, and now we have them every Sunday after dinner with some delicious cream. Living in semi-rural Scotland we quite often go cycling at the weekends, there are plenty of opportunities along the way to get off the bike for a while and pick your own strawberries – the kids love it. Although most of the strawberries are eaten before we get back home.
Now Monin have created a wonderful wild strawberry syrup, oozing a sweet fragrant flavour, which is different from the classic strawberry we have grown to love (especially in champagne, ahem).
MONIN Wild Strawberry captures this beautiful, intense flavour in a syrup, which is the perfect partner for vodka and wine to create aromatic, refreshing cocktails with a taste of the wild.
Monin Syrup Bottle – What You Get
The Monin Wild Strawberry syrups come in a 700 ml (70 cl) Glass bottle as shown on the right. They are the same approx size as a standard bottle of wine.
Syrup Colour:
The colour of the syrup is a deep red with shiny golden glints
Tasting notes:
When you crack the bottle open your nose filled with fantastic candy wild strawberry notes. The taste is of ripe strawberry with a clean, fresh aftertaste.
Beverage Innovation Tips:
Monin Wild Strawberry works very well with bubbles! You can use it to create flavoured Champagne drinks, fizzy lemonades and spritzers… The reason is really simple: the wild strawberry has an outstanding, long, lingering after-taste and the bubbles help to release this flavour twice!
You can create a range of different drinks including cocktails, mocktails, lemonades, smoothies, milkshakes, teas and more.
Nutritional Information
The values given are per 100 ml of undiluted syrup.
The values above are per 100 ml of syrup, we are often asked to break this down further. The reason we don’t break it down is simple. There is no set dosage for syrup. Some people like a hint of flavour, other people like a lot of flavours. If you are making a thick hot chocolate you may require more syrup than if you were giving a mild flavour to some champagne or vodka.
Having said that, a typical dosage for syrup would be 10 ml as a start. Then you can increase or decrease to suit your own palate.
